There is a lot of routine in a lawyer’s work, and arbitration practice is no exception. Seemingly secondary tasks such as organizing documents (filing papers in folders and transferring files to virtual electronic storages), translation and keeping minutes – require a lot of effort, especially in long and complex proceedings. The first issue of the journal in 2021 is dedicated to people who take on these mundane duties – translators, stenographers, secretaries. On the one hand, they should be as unobtrusive as possible, so as not to distract arbitrators and counsel from the essence of the case. On the other hand, the outcome of arbitration can sometimes depend on the nuances of their work.
In this issue, practicing professionals shed light on the important role played by supporting specialists in arbitration, as well as the problems that arise when organizing hearings today.
